Leading Lines and Balance & Symmetry

  1. Leading Lines
  2. In our front yard halfway on the lawn, and halfway on the sidewalk.
  3. The edge of the sidewalk creates a line that leads to Rocky who is the subject of the photo.
  1. Symmetry
  2. In our kitchen
  3. It is pretty much balanced, and it looks as though each half is a reflection of the other.

  1. Asymmetry
  2. In our entryway
  3. One half is empty so it is a picture that demonstrates asymmetry.

Here are some more pictures I took to demonstrate these concepts.

Color and Rule of Thirds

  1. Color
  2. Our living room.
  3. The only colored part of the picture is the flower, which attracts viewers eyes so that the flower is the very first thing they'll look at.

  1. Color and the rule of thirds
  2. Our living room
  3. The picture is black and white to create a certain mood, and to help the viewers focus more on her face rather than anything more colorful. The subject is facing inwards and the picture basically follows the grid.
